We understand that as an independent contractor or a small business owner it is becoming harder and harder to find affordable coverage that meets your many needs.  The UPC offers access to smart and affordable plans to fit your lifestyle with many benefits available to family and domestic partners (of UPC members).  Larger corporations may offer bigger and broader packages however, being a UPC member allows you to choose the benefits that benefit you!  Plus, you can rest easy knowing that your basics are covered.

UPC Business Insurance Programs

Studio Property / Liability Insurance - The UPC is thrilled to offer its members special coverage to a very competitive studio liability policy.  Since Pilates is unique in nature, with the workouts of our clients are supervised, the liability is often overlooked in comparison to other fitness establishments that favor solo fitness regimes.  However, insurance is necessary to protect your business.  As a member you will have access to general/professional liability at a flat rate of $750 for your studio.  The property insurance will be assessed upon submission of your business profile.Individual Trainer Insurance - The UPC has put together a plan that allows you to choose from four different levels of coverage; they include: general, professional, personal and advertising injury. With our insurance program, choosing different levels for your practice is easy!  Depending on the type of fitness practice you havefor example: if you are a Pilates trainer working with special populations such as pre- and post-natal clients or clients with osteoporosisyou may select a package with higher coverage. Workers Compensation - Very competitive rates for members of the UPC. Individual quotes available; premiums based on previous experience and payroll.

Public Studio Finder

As a member of the UPC, you will be able to list your studio on our Public Studio Finder.  If you do not have a studio, you will still be able to list yourself and your links to affiliated studios. We will use this feature in all our marketing efforts to the public so you may have online visibility; making it easy for potential clients when searching for a studio.  Useful for daily fitness and holiday or business travel.

Special Vendor Discounts to Support Your Business

Members of the UPC are eligible for steep discounts that will save you money on business supplies, continuing education, Pilates props and tools, web scheduling programs, MBT shoes, and much more.  We will continue to negotiate on your behalf to build relationships with vendors and service providers both locally and nationally.

Workshops and Events Calendar

UPC members may list any workshop on the events calendars.  This resource will prove invaluable to you, the Pilates practitioner, as you seek higher knowledge with continuing education or in promoting public and professional events at your studio(s).  This calendar will also ensure proper scheduling so that your event wont overlap with neighboring studios, thus garnering maximum participation.

The UPC is dedicated to providing business resources and marketing tools to better your ability in reaching a larger client base as well as saving on the bottom line.  Through the development of committees ranging from, Scope of Practice and Client Care to Public Relations and Special Events; these groups will be developing an ongoing resource network that will benefit all UPC members. With each chapter, there will be information regarding cooperative advertising opportunities within your area to promote the Pilates Method and direct traffic to your studio.

The United Pilates Collective promotes the business of Pilates.  How you run your business and how to do it better.  The UPC is unique in that it is neither a governing nor certifying body.
